The Dream Of The 90's Is Alive...

So as some of you already know, Lorne Michaels is making a TV show about my city. This video crossed my radar a couple of nights ago:

I'm not really sure if I find it funny or offensive.

I laughed when I watched the video, but it also made me slightly uncomfortable. It describes Portland - and my life - a little too well.

I mean, it was only last week that I updated my work information on Facebook to look like this:

And I've spent way too much over the past month making purses out of duct tape. Look, this one is definitely art because it has a bird on it:

I spent all morning listing these purses on my new Etsy store. This was the first morning in a long time that I did not sleep till 11.

And what's my occupation? I guess I don't have one. I'm a musician.

I could go on and on. Like I said, the video was a little too close to home.

Of course, I'm still going to have to watch the show when it comes out.

  1. Haha, I will be looking out for the TV show. Sadly I'll be forced into crime by it inevitably not being shown in the UK.

  2. Haha! I love it. Which Portland would that be? I live by a Portland, but I'm sure it's not the only one. It really looks similar to that though...

Good thing you wear glasses and play music. You're ahead of the game. Don't take offense. The 90s rocked. =]

  3. And I might buy one of your bags.

  4. Portland, Oregon, of course! There's one in Maine but I hear it's not nearly as cool.

Haha, yeah...I've lived in/around Portland forever and had the whole glasses/misunderstood musician thing going on long before it was hip. Go me.

:D Glad you like my bags! Do you have your eye on one in particular?

  5. I should move to Portland - I still have the Dream of the 90s in my heart!

My friend visited Portland, Maine in October - she said it was nice. I'm sure your Portland is cooler though.

Hurray for Etsy! You can be in my Etsy circle!

  6. I think you would love Portland.

And I am now in your Etsy circle! And you are in mine! Yay!

  7. Yay! My great aunt lived in Oregon - but sadly she died, not that I knew her well enough to visit her anyways.

  8. I love your duct tape bags! Do you make other duct tape stuff too? I remember being in grade 5 and EVERYONE had duct tape wallets. They should definitely make a comeback.

It makes my day when YOU leave me comments. :D
