It was bad when I knew one of my neighbors managed to grow maggots in her room.
An actual conversation I found on her FB page after the incident |
It was bad when a lady and her son moved in and somehow managed to make their entire hallway smell like hamsters.
The weird thing is, there are no hamsters in their room. Only one conclusion is logical: They ARE hamsters. |
But now, a guy just a couple rooms away from me has BED BUGS.
I hear about those in the news all the time, but I've never personally known anyone who has actually run into them. They've always seemed like somewhat of a distant, unimportant threat. But now, knowing they have made it into THE BUILDING WHERE I SLEEP, I'm freaking out a little bit.
Naturally, I became psychosomatically itchy the minute I heard the news (which was about an hour ago). I checked my mattress. I changed my sheets. I checked everywhere that they could be hiding. Luckily, there was no sign of them, but I'm still edgy about sleeping here tonight. Maybe I'm being overly neurotic, but those things can travel fast.
I feel a cleaning rampage coming on...
Those things are awful and very hard to get rid of. If you guys don't treat the whole house soon it will only get worse. My brother ran into this problem and had to leave the place because they would only treat one room at a time and they kept coming back. Get covers for your mattress and pillows and good luck.
ReplyDeleteSomeone probably moved in with a really old mattress or couch. Yuck...as for the maggots...that's gross that she obviously doesn't check her food very often or take out her garbage. There's a reason why potatoes are supposed to be stored in a cool, dry place. Ew.
ReplyDeleteGross gross gross. Now I'm all itchy too.
ReplyDeleteHere I was thinking that maggots are probably the worst thing you could find in your room, but bed bugs?! Holy fuggin crap. That is my worst nightmare. I hope that situation gets sorted quickly!!
ReplyDeleteI feel like maggots only live off dead food and stuff. Maybe there are no hamsters because the maggots ate them.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness... there's been a HUGE outbreak in Canada with bed bugs the last couple years.. like, bad enough that most hotels have to have someone come in to check the beds once every few months.
ReplyDeleteMy brother's dorm got them a few years back, he had to steam and clean everything in his room every day and had bites everywhere.
